BTW - that seems REALLY expensive for an '07 with near 70k miles. I'd say you could find one in the $14-15k range at that age and mileage range. Yep, this popped up in a 10 second search. '07 48i with 67k mi listed for $15.5k.

Personally I think the '06 3.0 is just fine, it is the same engine that I have in my X3 with 45K miles on it and burns maybe a qt of oil between the BMW recommended change intervals of 15k miles. OTOH my neighbor's 4.4 X5 is a gas hog that burns oil.
